One held with 6.5kg gold at Dhaka airport

A youth with a total of 65 gold bars, worth around Bangladeshi taka 3.25 crore (approximately $0.38 million), was detained at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday night.
The arrestee has been identified as Md Rajib Dewan who landed at the airport around 11pm from Singapore, the United News Bangladesh reported.
Acting on a tip, a team from customs followed Rajib from the boarding bridge, Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Customs House Othello Chowdhury said.
Searching his body, the team recovered six packets wrapped with scotch tape that were hidden in his pants, he said.
