PM to address nation this evening

Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is set to address the nation today [Sunday] evening on the occasion of Eid-ul- Fitr.

"The Prime Minister will address the nation at 7:30 pm on the occasion of Holy Eid-ul Fitr," PM's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim told local media.

State-owned Bangladesh Betar and Bangladesh Television will simultaneously broadcast the Prime Minister’s address.

Private television channels and radio stations will also air the speech.

Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in the country on Monday as the Shawwal moon was not sighted in Bangladesh sky yesterday.

The National Moon Sighting Committee at a meeting made this announcement yesterday evening.
