South Korean company to invest $5 million in CEPZ

A South Korean company, is going to establish a Readymade Garment Industry with an investment of US$ 5.23 million in Chattogram EPZ.
An agreement to this effect was signed on Monday between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and the South Korean M/s. JW Apparel Limited at BEPZA Complex, Dhaka, says a BEPZA press release.
This fully foreign owned company will produce annually 2.1 million pieces of various kinds of apparels specially Jackets, Pants, Vest and Blanket.
JW Apparel will create employment opportunity for 1338 Bangladeshi nationals, the press release added.
Mr. Zillur Rahman ndc, Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA and Ms. Ji Won Oh, Managing Director of M/s. JW Apparel Limited inked the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
The Executive Chairman of BEPZA Major General S M Salahuddin Islam, BP, SPP, ndc, psc were also present at the signing ceremony.
Among others, Mizanur Rahman, Member (Finance), Nazma Binte Alamgir, General Manager (Public Relations) and Md. Tanvir Hossain, General Manager (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA were present during the occasion.
