Saudi Arabia deports 217 more Bangladeshi workers

Another 217 Bangladeshi workers were deported to the country by Saudi Arabia on Thursday, reported by United News of Bangladesh.
A Saudi Airlines flight carrying 103 workers landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11:20 pm on Wednesday while another flight with 114 more workers landed at 1:10 am on Thursday.
With this more than 2,500 Bangladeshi workers were sent back from the Middle East country in last three weeks in the new year.
Brac Migration Programme with collaboration of Expatriate Welfare Desk provided necessary aid to the returnees.
Brac Migration Programme chief Shariful Hasan said many of the deportees were lured to the Middle East country with promises of good jobs and better lives.
“Almost all of them returned home empty handed,” he added.
