10,000 Freedom Fighter heirs to get Indian scholarships

Government of India has sanctioned 10,000 scholarships for the heirs of Muktijodhas, or 1971 Freedom Fighters, over five years and the scheme was started in 2017-2018, says a statement today (Monday) issued by the Indian High Commission in Dhaka.

It added the year 2019-2020, scholarships will be awarded by 2000 students (1000 each for HigherSecondary and Undergraduate levels).

Undergraduate students will get a onetime amount of Taka 50,000 and Higher Secondary students Taka 20,000, the statement said.

Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, Government of Bangladesh has partnered with Indian High Commission to select deserving students covering all districts of Bangladesh.

Advertisement has been placed by the Ministry in their official web site (www.molwa.gov.bd) and local news paper ‘The Daily Janakantha’ and ‘The Bangladesh Pratidin’ on 21 July 2019.

Applicants are advised to visit the website and submit their application as per prescribed application format before 22 August 2019 directly to Ministry of Liberation War Affairs.
